Become a Breakfast Chef
It’s well established doctrine at the AFC Homestead that a healthy breakfast is the key to a fit life. The size of your breakfast is important, but unlike the mainstream media and advertising industries want to make you believe, breakfast should be the smallest meal of your day.
In order to become truly fit, your body should become accustomed to burning off the fuel in your morning workout from the food you ate for dinner the night prior. Nonetheless, a healthy breakfast – not hearty – is indispensable for reaching your physical peak.
Creating Substance founder Jon Pearlman has acquired the title of “Executive Breakfast Chef” at the Homestead, and he can often be found preparing steel-cut oatmeal with fresh fruit in the early morning hours. On weekends, the Couple enjoy a leisurely breakfast while re-reading blog posts from the prior week, before heading out the door for an extended workout.
Eating a hearty dinner and a light breakfast is beneficial because you can work out hard in the morning while at the same time feeling light. Then, once you get back home, thoroughly wiped out, feel free to consume a large portion of carbohydrates (rice pasta with vegetables is a great option) and protein (a piece of grilled fish, in an ideal world) to refuel.
Forget the bagels, muffins, croissants, pastries, and cereals, and start to become a breakfast chef. You will soon reap the rewards by increasing your fitness level to new heights.
