At the end of this month, AFC left the South Florida Homestead for three weeks so they could enjoy the perfect weather on Long Island. The Couple stayed in Montauk – a hip town in the Hamptons – where they continued to increase their VO2 Max’s, while at the same time enjoying summer. Montauk seemed to provide the perfect balance.
AFC’s days were jam-packed with physical training, not to mention other productive ventures on the side. Jon has been working on a novel, and Lyuda was able to work remotely for her job -- which provides more flexibility for employees during the summer months.
A typical daily schedule for AFC in Montauk looked as follows:
7am - Organic Breakfast
8am – 12pm Workout
1pm – Organic Lunch
2pm-5pm – Work Obligations
6pm-8pm - Workout
9pm – Organic Dinner
11pm - Sleep
Jon practiced tennis on the clay courts of Montauk Downs State Park, whereas Lyuda frequented the local field for sessions of running, sprints, abs, and plyometrics.
On the weekends, the Couple strayed from their strict daily regimen by meeting up with friends and socializing with family. AFC even “partied” one Saturday night in the VIP of the Surf Lodge, one of the hottest nightlife destinations in the Hamptons. Surf Lodge promoters had been following the AFC blog closely over the course of the last year, and they treated the Couple with the utmost hospitality –- providing free bottle service and a private area for mingling. (AFC doesn’t drink, of course, but the endless Veuve Clicquot certainly facilitated a memorable experience for AFC groupies who joined in the festivities).
All in all, the time in Montauk has been incredibly productive thus far -- and the Couple hopes the remaining weeks will continue to bring good memories. AFC continues to progress on the fitness front too, and the rain-free Hamptons weather certainly hasn't been an impediment.
